Simon was born in Quezon City, Philippines, where he was the youngest of two children. Shortly after he was born, Simon's family emigrated to the US. He has spent most of his life in California and he currently lives in San Francisco.
Simon graduated from NYU Stern School of Business with an MBA and from UCLA with a BA in Economics, summa cum laude.

Simon learned to photograph in high school using a 35mm SLR camera and black and white film. Since those early days, Simon has moved onto digital film where he focuses on night, landscape, and street photography. Simon has been published in several local and online publications, including the The Daily Bruin, The Sacramento Bee, and 7x7 Magazine.
other interests:
Aside from photography, Simon enjoys watching independent cinema, reading screenplays, and backpacking across Asia. His favorite films include Eric Byler's Charlotte Sometimes and Michael Kang's West 32nd, and his favorite books include Haruki Murakami's Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, JD Salinger's Catcher in the Rye, and Bret Easton Ellis' American Psycho.
